Gallow Hill, Scalloway

Welcome

It looms over Scalloway and gives the village its shelter.

Twenty-eight people were tried for witchcraft in Shetland, twenty-two of them women, and most of those convicted were put to death on this hill.

From the top there is a view over the village and the castle.
