Forsinard Train Station
A stone station on the Far North Line in the middle of the Flow Country, where the RSPB keeps the visitor centre for Forsinard Flows.
Welcome
Forsinard is a lonely station: a small stone building with a teal-trimmed canopy, a level crossing and a signal, set down in the middle of the Flow Country with bog and sky in every direction.

Trains on the Far North Line, between Inverness and Thurso and Wick, stop here among the pools.
The station building is the gateway to Forsinard Flows, the RSPB's great peatland reserve. Behind its blue door is the reserve's visitor centre, and from the platform a boardwalk trail sets off across the bog to the pools and the timber Flows Lookout tower.
Step off the train and you are straight onto the bog, with golden plover calling and hen harriers quartering the moor in spring and summer. By car it is on the single road between Helmsdale and Melvich, and the car park is shared with the reserve.
