Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Each August, Edinburgh becomes the site of the world’s largest arts festival as the Fringe returns for 25 days of performances across the city. The 2025 programme includes over 3,300 shows in 265 venues, representing work from more than 50 countries. Events span comedy, theatre, dance, cabaret, music, spoken word and children’s entertainment. With no selection committee, the Fringe is open to all, creating a unique mix of professional and emerging talent. Street theatre and pop-up performances animate the Royal Mile, while established venues and independent spaces host formal productions. The festival is a major draw for audiences and artists alike.
