The Edinburgh International Film Festival runs from 14 to 20 August 2025, with screenings across venues including Summerhall, The Cameo, the newly refurbished Filmhouse, Vue Omni, and a pop-up at the National Gallery’s Hawthornden Theatre. The programme features 43 feature films, with 18 world premieres—ten of which will compete for the £50,000 Sean Connery Prize. Opening night features the UK premiere of Sorry, Baby, following strong showings at Cannes and Sundance. Closing the festival is the new Irvine Welsh documentary Reality Is Not Enough. The line-up also includes retrospectives on Sean Connery’s Bond films and Budd Boetticher westerns, plus talks and late-night screenings.
