Coire Dubh Walk

Welcome

A good first walk on Rum starts at the back of Kinloch Castle and follows the Coire Dubh burn up through the pines.

It is a gravel path, waymarked, easy underfoot, and in twenty minutes the trees thin and the hill opens in front of you with the Rum Cuillin along the skyline. Beyond the footbridge the path carries on onto the open moor. Two miles there and back, and the whole of Kinloch Glen is laid out below you on the way down. Look for red deer on the slopes and eagles over the ridge.
