Alyth Arches Tours
Welcome
The Alyth Arches are the remains of the town's medieval church and its graveyard.
They're usually padlocked, but guided tours take you inside. Your guide is Neil Paterson, an amateur historian and stone carver. You'll see the 14th-century sacristy and the grave of the inventor James Sandy. You'll hear the story of the Onfall of Alyth in 1651. There's even an 18th-century duel restaged with bananas for pistols. The tours run on a handful of set dates, so look up the next one before you go.
