Sutherland Swimming Pool – Family Swims and Fun Sessions

A few hours.

The route

Sutherland Swimming Pool in Golspie is the pool for this stretch of the Sutherland coast, and on a wet day it's a good place to take young children.

Family-friendly sessions let one adult bring two under-eights, with the deep end roped off, and the fun sessions that follow bring out the big floats and toys. The whole building has level access, so it's easy with a buggy.

About two hours

  1. Sutherland Swimming Pool

    Sutherland Swimming Pool

Sutherland Swimming Pool is on Back Road in Golspie, signposted from the A9, with its own car park and two accessible bays. It's a 25-metre, four-lane pool with a shallow end and a deep end. In family-friendly sessions one adult may bring two children under eight, and the deep end is roped off. On the term-time timetable, which runs to 10 October, these are on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, Fridays from 4pm to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 11am. Fun sessions with big floats, woggles and toys follow them: Wednesday 6pm to 7pm, Friday 5pm to 6pm and Saturday 11am to noon. The pool opens Monday to Friday from 7am to 8pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm, and it's shut on Sundays. On Wednesdays the building shuts from 1pm to 3pm for staff training. Check the next timetable on High Life Highland's page for the pool before going, as the sessions change with it; the pool's number is 01408 633437. There's level access to every public area and a Changing Places toilet. Over Christmas and New Year, check before going.
