The Braemar Gathering 2027

Highland games take place all summer across Scotland, but the Braemar Gathering is the one everyone has heard of. Held since 1832 in the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, with the Deeside hills all around, it usually has the Royal Family watching from the pavilion. Pipe bands march in, the heavies throw the hammer and toss the caber, dancers compete on the boards, and runners race up Morrone and back.

The 2027 Gathering is on Saturday 4 September. Tickets go on sale on 1 February 2027 and the stands sell out, though the standing enclosure is easier to get into. Braemar is a beautiful drive west from Aberdeen through Royal Deeside.
