Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2027

Half of Scotland's malt whisky is made along the River Spey, and for the six days of Spirit of Speyside the distilleries open up rooms you'd never usually see, from the warehouses to the manager's own tasting table.

The 2027 festival runs from 28 April to 3 May, with hundreds of events from Dufftown to the coast, including tastings, cask openings, ceilidhs and a whisky school, and most of them are small. Aberlour or Dufftown make a cosy base, and you can walk between several distilleries on the Speyside Way and leave the car behind.
