Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival
Edinburgh's autumn gets a taste of Spain and Latin America as the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival returns for its 13th year.
Once a year Edinburgh lets you inside the buildings you usually walk straight past, and this year it's the weekend of 26 and 27 September. You can step into Panmure House, the last home of Adam Smith, which is not normally open to the public. There is the Advocates Library in Parliament House, the oldest law library in Scotland, and Barnton Bunker, a wartime RAF operations base in a quarry wood. At Greyfriars Kirkyard, the Covenanters' Prison opens from 10am to 4pm on both days, and there's no need to book. Check the Doors Open Days programme for each building's times before you set off.
